Avoca State School has a proud tradition of excellence in music. Each year in term 4, students from Years 3–6 have the opportunity to audition for the school’s Instrumental Music Program. Successful students have access to instruments on a hire basis for their first year of lessons, or they can choose to use/buy their own instruments.
Students receive specialist music lessons in strings or brass, woodwind and percussion each week and are eligible to participate in numerous instrumental music workshops held annually in Bundaberg. Our concert bands and ensembles regularly compete for Avoca State School at Bundaberg Fanfare and the Bundaberg Eisteddfod.
